The pursuit and implementation of an educational model that values the world view and respect the rights of indigenous peoples has always been the interest of the Foundation Rigoberta Menchu Tum, for the creation of a truly democratic state, pluralistic and intercultural, based on respect and equality between peoples. In this way through higher education can claim the full individual and collective, ie education meets the needs for the community, family, person, work and culture. Not forgetting that education must teach tolerance and full exercise of citizenship. That is, educate and learn to respect differences, be it political, religious, gender, ideological or class.
Thus, higher education should enable learning from student's own culture.
